During our recent weekend away in Mt Maunganui, New Zealand, we stopped at Karangahake Gorge for a break from driving and a quick picnic lunch. The gorge floods during winter and the roads are often closed. We were lucky to have sunny weather. It was a very pleasant stop even though Mr. Munro made me risk life, limb and wet clothes when he instructed me to pose on one of the rocks.
