April 22 post
Mr. Munro and I have just returned home from a long weekend spent in Mt Maunganui. I'd hoped to find an internet cafe and post while I was away but it didn't happen. We had a fun weekend. Mr. Munro played golf - terrible golf, according to him. The worst golf he's ever played, but as a consolation prize he won a prize in the raffle. He's cheered up a bit now and isn't muttering about his bad golf score quite as much.
We went for a walk around the base of Mount Maunganui. You can climb to the top but I'm not up to that yet. I thought I did quite well attacking the 45 min walk around the base. We also went swimming in the hot saltwater pools. I went shopping and purchased quite a few CDs. One was the Gypsy Kings (the best of) I've been a fan of the Gypsy Kings since we worked in London. Anyway, color me happy and guess what's going to play on our stereo tomorrow. I also purchased a skirt in record time. I'm not a big clothes shopper, but I walked into the store, wandered around for a while and then found an assistant. I told her what I wanted and she ran around bringing me skirts to try on. That worked really well. I must try that again next time!
We had some wonderful meals and ended up watching some of the All Blacks v France rugby test on a big screen in one of the restaurants. It was fun and a really good atmosphere. The All Blacks won their first test of this season. Let's hope they keep it up until after the World Rugby Cup in October. I had a yummy dessert plate at this restaurant but I'll tell you about that tomorrow and hopefully post some photos of our weekend.
I took my laptop with me but didn't even turn it on. Instead I did a lot of reading. I'm on a JR Ward binge - reading number 4 at the moment. Excellent books. If you like paranormal romances go and hunt them out. I always thought I wanted to be Stephanie Plum when I grow up. I've changed my mind. I want to be just like JR Ward
